Oh Christmas Eve

Jane (Buchholz) Gallagher and her husband Larry were high school sweethearts at GHS, class of 67. They married after graduation and have lived in Crawfordsville, Indiana for many years. They have one son Kevin, who is now married and living near them. Larry works for the “Paper of Montgomery County” and Jane is a retired school teacher.
Jane also wrote a weekly article for the same newspaper
which ran for several years. She now shares with us her stories of growing up in INDIANA.
Oh Christmas Eve
Is your Christmas tree up yet? How many times have you been asked that question over the past two weeks? My dad would never consider even thinking about a Christmas tree until after Pearl Harbor Day, December 7. No matter how we’d beg and plead he’d stick to his guns: “It’s too early. I just got the storm windows on!” (The storms were always installed on Veterans’ Day.)
